CD's & Music

Kief's began in 1959 primarily as a music store. In the intervening years, Kief's music department has weathered expansions and contractions and moves, introduction of several different types of media from 78s and LPs to Super-Audio CDs and DVDs.

Kief's currently maintains two locations; our music department at our store at 2429 Iowa, and Kief's Downtown Music at 823 Massachusetts. Our store at 2429 Iowa is a self-service location that promises new releases and featured artists at low prices. Our shop at 823 Mass has a knowledgable staff, buys used CDs, takes special orders for any music in print, and features a Muze station to look up album and song titles. Kief's is also a charter member of the Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS). We maintain CIMS listening booths at both of our stores featuring music that independent music-appreciating people enjoy, but that may fall outside the scope of the mainstream.
